I was sitting here racking my brain trying to find a tutorial that could actually be done BEFORE christmas. That was hard. Most tutorials were all like - sew, and glue, and staple, and take an advil. This is easy. And if you have a puzzle with missing pieces and you can't use it anymore than wah-bam prepare to impress people with your recycling / crafting talent.
Well I just had my first BIG whoopsie last week. Shipped an item to the wrong address. All 3 actually. Sigh. Can I tell you though - in a positive light. I am BLESSED with some amazing customers! She was so awesome - like hey uhhh this isn't mine want me to ship it? See there are AWESOME people in the world! You better believe I refunded her wreath and made it for free! I mean I truly believe when someone goes out of their way to be helpful / wonderful they should be rewarded. If only Citi Bank and AT&T would get on board with that - my life would be awesome. Let's occupy.
Yesterday was my husband and I's 1 year anniversary. It's crazy to think how time flew SO fast. Got married, bought a house, no babies though. Almost had the trifecta, sorry parents. But what I love most about getting married in December is that my anniversary will always be around Christmas. It's like everyone decorated just for me, oh and Jesus. =)
This is short and sweet. Just like I hope my Friday will be. Fingers crossed. This is the final call / last reminder that ALL Holiday wreaths are 40% off and ALL other items in my shop are 30% off using code CYBER30. If your like me and you wait till WAY too late - here ya go.
I bought my first ugly Christmas sweater. My grandma loved it. Which is why I knew it was perfect. It has pockets. On the sleeves which is perfect for my phone or notes I'm passing to my friends. You know, the important things. I just don't feel like it can truly be Christmas without this amazingness. I will take a picture when I wear it to work on Monday. Oh yeah. It's happening.
My nails are ALWAYS really bad. In fact the only time they look good is when they are "done" by some lovely woman who does not have to paint with her left hand. A.K.A. not me. But seeing as that is expensive I had to find another way. So i found these from one of my students. Yes, I was told I was behind and got scolded. But now people I'm a believer. Although when they say follow the instructions - you should do that. Do your thumbs last people. Thumbs last.
Sally Hansen Stickie Nails. I got the animal print ones. Lasted almost 2 weeks and boosted my self esteem. Double wammie.
Own. Were you confused and thought this was Oprah? I know, happens all the time. The OWN does not stand for the network to which I watch ALL the time it is standing for my OWN self-promotion day. Why? Because it's a great deal and I never actually have time to talk about my OWN shop. Weird huh. You think I would be all up on the ball on that. I wouldn't call myself an on the ball type of person. Considering I JUST learned how to use my sewing machine....4 weeks after it was given to me. I can make tulip stitches. It's fancy. Anyways - this week being the last big shopping week before Christmas in my book I am offering up a special deal. ALL christmas wreaths are 40% off and all other wreaths are 30% off (enter code CYBER30 for deal). Yes. Deals flying off the shelf. So go ahead, have a great monday and check these babies out.
Yesterday was that day. That day where you look at yourself and just go REALLY? How do that many things happen all in a row?? Did the stars align? Is it a full moon? I didn't find the answer so I just bought a Bingo card. I figured all the bad stuff was already over and maybe I would win some moolah. I'll keep you updated on my millionaire status.
On to the tutorial! While looking for a great Christmas idea I stumbled upon Martha Stuart Crafts. I was immediately intimidated BUT this advent calendar actually looked simple.
This weekend I did nothing. Let me define nothing. Nothing that was required of me. And what's weird is when nothing is required I get more done. Like wreaths. I actually had time to make wreaths. And manage to wash some towels in the process. A little work and a little happiness. I also started making my Christmas presents. They are gonna be gooooood. If I can ever figure out my sewing machine. If not I always have my hot glue. I love you hot glue. You make life easy.
Christmas is expensive. No one told me this. Maybe it's because until I got a house I was shopping at dollar tree. Proud of it people. When things go on sale for 50 - 80% off I suddenly need it. Why? It's on sale. Yesterday I walked into my craft room and just went really? Did I just buy like 5 strings of garland? Wow must of had a Coke or something. I may need to start it's 50 to 80% off anonymous club. Or maybe just hang out on Pinterest more and "decorate" virtually. It's the same thing really.
Um. I love snowglobes. I don't think I have admitted this before but seriously I collect them. This has slowed down due to the fact that they apparently resemble a bomb and are not allowed on planes - so transporting this collection has been tricky. I hope someone in the TSA gave that globe a loving home. I am also currently at the moment obsessed with mason jars. Not to can things, oh no, thats old school. Instead fill them with wonderful goodies (hmmm great presents!) SO how GREAT to combine the 2 things I love into one...they must have known.
