God bless her

#1 - Shop of the Day - Revolving Store
* So many vintage goodies to look at and always a fan of vintage keys!

#2 - Item of the Day -Vintage Set of 3 Strawberry Canisters by Corvid337
* I found this in the treasury of thedarlingboutique - Great find!

I learned a lot of lessons yesterday... And I'm not even in school. Fancy that.

Rude people make you learn fast. Faster than nice people. They check your reaction time in a split second. Will I slap them or turn on my southern charm?

The degrees on the thermometer really determine that outcome.

It always amazes me how crazy rude some people can be. Heads turning like in the exorcist almost.

But I have a trick.

Turn on the thick southern accent. Tilt your head. Smile real big and repeat something to the extent of "God bless her" and "oh my dear Lord".

Works like a charm.

Maybe I'll make a wreath that's says God bless her on it.

That's southern cursing.

Maybe a good - be nice -  will work just fine. :)

Funk and forgetfullness

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - OrdinaryMommy
*pretty things and decor designed and handmade

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Sweet Little Bird Baby Girl Onesie by LillyanLou
* I always love baby stuff and this onesie is adorable!

I think I'm in a funk. Don't worry I put deodorant on.

I mean I even forgot about Thrifty Tuesday yesterday...i mean...hello.

But really the whole crafting thing when I wasn't working was going fantastic. All apart of my master plan to become a millionaire, live on an island and make crafts.

Every girls dream.

Now that school is starting to start back up and I've been working a summer job man this choo choo has lost some of it's steam.

I think I just need to learn how to balance my schedule. Which I have never been good at for sure.

It's just frustrating sometimes when you WANT to have time but life insists that you do other things. Don't they know I have things to hot glue? I mean dirty dishes get a clue.

I am living up to my word and not making anything until I really feel I can do a good job. It never turns out well when you force yourself anyway.

Maybe I can spice things up by trying new colors or research new ideas. Heck maybe I'll do a big clearance coupon. Ideas to de-funk? My comments box is open and ready!

Southern Wedding

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Kathypierson
*everything about this shop is so light and refreshing...just makes you feel happy

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Bright Copper Rain Cloud Necklace crystal by frilledandfeathered
*Really unique and hand forged jewelry - love this necklace

I have summer wedding jealousy.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVED LOVED my wedding and wouldn't change a single thing but it was in December.

First off the sun sets earlier (must have missed that in science class) and if you've been to Texas the weather  is comparable to a women who just broke their nail.

It could be 80 degrees or maybe 20... not too sure on any given day.

In defense of winter weddings they are fun because of the whole Christmas / free decorations.  Plus your never hot in your dress and did I mention Christmas - hello gingerbread.

As I was scrolling though Etsy over the weekend I saw this treasury and it just spoke to that little place in my heart that said "yes please."

Rustic. Cute. Vintage. Carefree. The kind of wedding that my brain doesn't go to but I totally would cut out pictures of and pretend I had time to plan it.

Not that I still buy bridal magazines...ok maybe ... don't judge me.

Giveaway Number 3!

You know what time it is ....Giveaway time! (is that some sort of wrestler yell...sounds like it)

The time frame is 2 weeks to enter and you can always go back to the link of this post by clicking the giveaway tab above!

So let's get to know our NEW giveaway seller : ABirdinTheHandArt

Name of Shop – A Bird In The Hand Art

Category of items you sale – Mostly jewelry, and some home d├ęcor.

1. How long have you had your shop?
5 Months.

2. What inspired you to make ABirdinthehandart?
I’ve always loved creating things and I really enjoy sharing them with others. I chose the name “Bird in the Hand” because I love to paint birds. Since I also make jewelry, I decided to create different collections based on different birds. When you buy an item, you get to hold a “bird” in your hand.

3. Who or what inspires you to create?
I don’t know, something inside. My mom is very artsy; she actually spent some time as a political cartoonist. That probably had a big impact. I also studied biology, specifically birds, for some time in school and I’ve learned to love the beauty and wonder in the world around me.

4. What has been your biggest accomplishment as a shop owner / artist?
Making a sale. Seriously, since I’m just starting out, every sale I make feels like the biggest accomplishment yet. I’ve done a few shows this year as well, but they haven’t had quite the same impact that the online sales have. I think this is because I used to do craft shows back in high school so I was more used to this type of interaction (although the pieces I made back then were NOT good ☺)

5. What has been the hardest part about starting a business?
Patience. I want to immediately make everything I have imagined and get it all listed perfectly and then sell out in a week. That will never happen. It takes time to grow and develop. I think I also need to be patient with myself; I’m new to this and I need to give myself time to develop as an artist and a small business owner.

6. What would be your biggest tip to a brand new shop owner / artist on etsy?
See above. No just kidding. I think it would be to find something that you love making. If you are just starting, you may just be trying to find anything that sells. I guess I would say try to make something you love rather than worrying too much about whether others will love it as well.

7. Where can we find ABirdinthehandart?
Well, the girl behind it lives in WA. But online, find me here:

$20 Store Credit (that means YOU get to PICK!)
*also ships internationally*

#1 Shop of the Day - Fruitfly
* Mix of ceramic and embroidery art

#2 Item of the Day - Personalized Hand Stamped Handmade from luxurious linen fabric Ribbon - 2 yards - hand stamped onto fabric ribbon i love you by TheLonelyHeart

I like routines.

I wouldn't call myself type A ... But I wouldn't call myself type B either. I'm a AB.

Isn't that a blood type? I dunno I don't like needles. Although in Dallas if you donate blood on Friday you get a 4- pack set of tickets to the circus....

I'll do anything for the circus. Cotton candy, elephants... Hello heaven.

Anyways back to the routine I have now christened Thursday to be the day I find my favorite new tutorial to show you.

And if adventurous enough I may even try my own.

But I'm working the Mary Kay this is very unlikely ...any of you here? Holla.

So here is my new tutorial I found. I'm not a fan of sewing that is for sure but I can stitch by hand.

It looks incredibly detailed and I'm 99% sure I would throw this about an hour into creation BUT if I COULD complete it man it would be neato.

You could do so many fun things with this idea like a family tree or even for a wedding. Endless possibilities ... And people that's what I like.

Mostly because if i messed up I would just say - oh no this is just one of the many endless possibilities. There is a cop out for you too my dears.

Circles are Fun

*One more week left on the GIVEAWAY*

#1 - SHOP of the DAY -Dinomacci
*great felt purses and a mix of so many cute things I couldn't list them all!

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Baby Shoe, White on White with Light Pink Ribbon and Beautiful Jewel, FREE Personalization avail by mysweetbabylove
* I am obsessed with baby shoes and with the name on the bottom...I mean hello...

I'm all moved into my house. Sort of.

All of my stuff is here. BUT it just will not organize itself. How rude.

Plus I have to clean my old apartment. BUT I made an awesome decision. That is called pay someone else to do it.

Livingsocial is my friend. Best friend. I found a deal to get 2 wonderful women to clean my apartment. I feel sorry for them but REALLY happy for me.

I'm torn... thats a lie...not really.

So in all of this busyness (is that how you spell it? I dunno...) I have figured out something. This past week I have had NO time to just surf around etsy and go ohhhh that's cute - BUT I needed favorite shops / items.

Problem solved. Circles.

I must be in circles with people who have wonderful tastes because that is how I find my items / new shops.

It can be overwhelming to just surf around and look. So duh use your friends.

Why I didn't think of this before I dunno. It's like when you ask your friends where to shop in the mall instead of wondering around aimlessly.

So. Tip of the Day. Join lots of circles with people of similar tastes and mooch off each other. Half the time, double the favorites. Amen.

(I tried the whole fancy name thing - just easier to type it. Any suggestions?)

It's hot...

just click on the giveaway tab above and enter away!

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Studiopatro
*Great eco-friendly hand printed goodies!

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Wedding Invitation Talavera Tile Inpsired - SAMPLE by Sandyphotoart
* This is a sample but I LOVE the colors and design of this wedding invitation!

I don't know how many of you live in Texas. If you do you will understand.

It's hot.

Not just hot, let me explain better. So hot I don't even want to go to the pool (gasp). That signals problems people. I LOVE the pool.

How people act though is kinda hilarious. They run around like its raining outside but it's only raining rays of sunshine death. Not fun but hilarious. When your in the car with AC.

Even with all this heat there is some good news.... I have a house!

And I'll be moving all my craft supplies in this heat. My yarn better not melt. Or ribbon. It's possible.

Yes closed yesterday - signed masses of papers and got a hand cramp.

But I have keys and now a craft room.

Curiosity killed the cat on Bloglovin

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Vital Temptation Design
*some of the coolest felt design creations I've ever seen!

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Elina - Swarovski pearls and rhinestone Necklace by Irenejewelry
* this reminds me of the Anna and Ava jewelry at dillards which I LOVE!

I like to stalk out other people's blogs. I mean I read them too.

Anyways I kept seeing this thing called bloglovin'. I know what your thinking.

This is a juggling act and I think I'm adding too many pieces. I'm that clown that everyone laughs at. Too many sticks on fire - i get it. But curiosity killed the cat.

So I logged on. Simple enough. Found my blog. simple enough. I followed my OWN blog. Simple enough. And then...

No posts. For a whole week. NOT simple enough

And you KNOW I like simple.

NOW they tell me oh you have to have an RSS feed. Ok google time.

Found some website. Step by step. Simple enough. Still no posts on the feed. (you know what goes here)

So my dears I have a request. Help.

My button is so cute and it flashes but it's a tunnel to nowhere. Any advice would be appreciated. I blame the cat. They make me nervous anyway.

Why does NO ONE tell you that fridge will cost your left leg.

Sad grown up moment.

Apparently when you find a house they include ALL but the fridge. I get it. I might have different "tastes" as to where I would like my selection of cheese to be stored but really a touch screen? With twitter? Come on Best buy man that's redonkulous.

So if you see me tweeting that i got you know I'm a high roller.

But i DID get a fridge. The cheap one. Duh. I told you full price is a bad word.

What was wrong with this fridge - nothing. A small dent in the right corner. Dime size. The guy told me I could put a butterfly sticker on it. We are now best friends.

If he told me to bedazzle the whole thing I probably would of married him. Sorry hubby.

I had so many great sale snags yesterday if I listed them all you would be bored to tears. This got me thinking though. Pay it forward.

Cause people I've met karma and she aint nice.

So for 24 HOURS for my lovley readers I am having a 50% off sale on all in-stock items!

Type in this nifty code - OMG50 (sorry it seemed the most appropriate) and get a great deal! This goes from midnight to midnight. At midnight the code it no longer valid - So if your a late reader you get the first pick =)

Have a lovley Wednesday!

Inspiration came from when i was making jewelry for family and friends.they liked my jewelry and suggested that i sell it, so i gave it a go!!
3. Who or what inspires you to create?
Originally i was inspired by my mother,we used to make jewelry together when i was in my early teens. I was going through some old jewelry that she had made and it inspired me to start up again! And now I get inspiration from everything. I can look at an ordinary object and find some way to bead it or make it into a beaded item!!

Crafter Hoarder

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Dmtgun3
* fun mix of handmade designs

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - ooii slate by ZUZII
* Ok I don't have a baby...but hello...these are adorable!

I tried to think of something really witty for a Friday. I failed.

All I can think about is the fact that I feel like I'm on hoarders.

You know that show on TLC where they collect cats, dolls, and normally creepy things. Yeah that.

Except without the creepy.

A collection of snow globes isn't creepy. Ridiculous to pack but at least not creepy.

The packing boxes are slowing surrounding me and now I know why those people go crazy.

I did manage to make a custom wreath yesterday somehow. I don't know how considering most of my stuff is packed up. I can remember where the yarn is - but a pair of shoes...not happening.

So instead of trying to give advice from my own brain - I borrowed this.

Technically it's not borrowing because I'm not giving it back - more like representing.

So. Represent. Click the Link.

Enjoy the Weekend!

DIY huh?

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - SandeeKnits
*great mix of handmade scarves - some even made from t-shirts (yeah for up cycling!!)

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Pineapple Post-it by vaporqualquer
*how cute are these post-its?? What a great and fun gift!

I just figured out what DIY means.

I know it's sad. I'm a crafter I should be outcasted.

But really for the longest time i was googling DIY like who is this person? How do they make all this stuff??

Point and laugh. It's ok. I would point at myself but then that would just be weird.

SO speaking of DIY I found this really cute tutorial idea that is so simple and easy. Simple and easy are words I LIKE.

Many times when I try tutorials (no offense to those who CAN sew) I usually end of throwing things. Then my husband looks at it for 3 seconds and figures it out. Sigh.

But THIS oh my dears I think anyone can accomplish and is a GREAT gift to anyone really.

I also like that - multiple gift uses. Not re-gifting. Guilty? oh yeah.

So here is what you can make - Dressed up Dish Towels.
*all it takes is a dish towel, ribbon (or fabric), and cute lace.

How simple is that! - AND no sewing machine - holla! Find the tutorial link below.

So get your DIY on. And if someone actually makes this let me know. I wanna see. I wanna see.
