Sack of Potatoes

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - AWorkofHeartSA
*love wreaths obviously and especially this door hanger!

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - American Flag made from Reclaimed Wood by rcmivv
*I love that this is reclaimed and so worn and wonderful

If you were like me you watched 9/11 shows all day yesterday - glued to the T.V. for every moment.

The whole thing is fascinating / heartbreaking to me. Call it the history person in me.

The crazy thing is - I traveled all the way to Europe to experience sights like I saw today.

Beaches, monuments, grave sites, and gas chambers.

It all emits the same feeling.

This strange mix of awe, wonder, sadness, and respect.

I can still remember sitting in the concentration camp and just having that overwhelming feeling of heaviness.

Like a sack of potatoes was on my shoulders.

But yet it wasn't sad. Just heavy.

And the neat thing about all of those place. All of those mass sites of destruction.

*Photo taken of the Berlin Wall in Germany - one of my favorites

Happy Monday everyone =)

  1. That is life being lived to the full! Well done. If one cannot appreciate what one is experiencing every day, then life ain't worth a thing. History is made up of lots of days like yesterday (and 9/11) and it's up to us to make our lives fit in!

Thanks for that post. Recently joined your blog, and look forward to it even more, after this one!

Hope to see you at mine soon -! All comments are always welcome. Cheers. Isobel
