This post is not craft related. But I couldn't help myself. I saw this movement on Facebook and I just had to write about it. You know I hear about cancer all the time. Whether it's through someone famous dying or winning, relatives gone too soon, or your friend down the street just diagnosed. It's everywhere. But what made this unique is the fervor of the ladies putting this all together for the sweet, precious little girls who fight cancer every day. You know it NEVER occurred to me that little girls might want a doll to look just like them. Yes they have those American Girl dolls where you can make it look just like you - blonde hair and all. But, what if you have no hair? What if that hair has been taken from you by cancer? Where is that little girl's doll?
So join me and this wonderful group is petitioning Mattel to make a Bald and Beautiful Barbie for these sweet girls. The idea is to name her Hope and all proceeds would go to St jude's hospital. Below is an example one of the followers made up as a template.
