Tutorial Thursday #34 - Cheap Dog Bookends

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - AnthologyOnMain

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Rustic Personalized Guest Book Pen with Flower

Let me start off by saying that when I originally followed the link for this picture it took me to the website PBTeen.
I almost hid in shame.
Really? Have I gone to that place. A place where I want to make crafts that are featured in teen like magazines.
Yes. I have gone there. And I like it.
THEN i realized it was not an actual tutorial at this site - just someone's idea on how to rip it off for cheap, excuse me I mean lovingly copy.
I like this person already.

The pinner suggested getting these materials so you could recreate for WAY cheaper than the $49 they want.

1. Spray Paint
2. 2 Plastic toys
3. 2 Wooden Blocks
4. Glue of your choice (I would think super glue would be best)

Bam. Cheap-o bookends.

Happy Thursday!

  1. I adore the "lovingly copied" bookends, and I'm planning on lovingly copying them for my sons room when we graduate him from baby to toddler when he turns two in a few months... I just have to decide what toy would be best.... Hmmm.

I love gorilla glue. I know it sounds a bit manly, but honestly it's my favorite, and no, not just because my husband recommended it to me with a geekish gleam in his eyes... :)

    Thanks for sharing!
