My Monday #14 - Wish Tags

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Brydferth

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Sea Urchin Collection - Vintage Copper and White Earrings

Advice is one of those things that can be really awesome or really annoying. Most of the time I find it annoying as the person giving it to me usually I am not a fan of and is also trying to make me feel dumb. Which I am most of the time so I shouldn't be offended. They say things to me like - why don't you match your socks it's cuter when you do. Or yes, you should actually change your oil so your car keeps working. Annoying right? Well I know this will sound crazy but there actually is a fun way to recieve / give advice that is not only a great party idea but a wonderful keepsake as well. And it's fill-in-the-blank. Good for everyone.
Mad Lib Wish Tags.

*If you like these - you can buy them HERE at SeaFoamSafari

It was so fun to sit down with my husband and read all the serious and not so serious advice about marriage and what it has to come. Then go buy a large glass vase to display - fun to read and a great decorating piece.

Total Price - around $20 for an entire party. If you make them yourself even cheaper.
Skill Level - Make a template on the computer and cut and glue - maybe tie a ribbon = pretty easy.
Fun / Keepsake level - High. VERY high.

Happy Monday!

Rangers Flash

Pardon my day of rest and this title, I blame the drugs that I am still under because it sounded overtly humorous to me. What can I say i'm easily entertained. What was also entertaining was a half off pizza from Papa Johns...thank you Texas Rangers. Yes, did you know you can get a pizza for 50% off if the Rangers score 7 runs the night before...I mean hello happiness to my stomach. So I thought thanks Papa John I think I will spread the Rangers love as well! So for 24 hours only I am selling my Made to Order Texas Ranger's Wreath for $12 off! That's only $30 for an amazingly cute wreath that I would love for Ian Kinsler to hang on his door. If anyone can hook that up for me that would be great.

Pick ME for only $30 + shipping (normally $42) . Click HERE to order!

Why Didn't I Think of That #21 - Secrets are Fun

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - ThePantages

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Blue and Yellow Sunny Side Up Back Cut Out Dress M

I'm all about hidden things. It's mostly because I have zero organization skills. Well I would call my life organized but apparently professionals don't think stuff lying around everywhere is OK. Do these people have children or even spouses? I rest my case. (insert gavel hitting desk sound effect). So to give the illusion I am "all together" and it look like I am well read is a dream.

Take a bunch of old books (check your local library to be all eco-friendly, and cut off the spines. Not to mention you probably have a few where the spines are on their last leg anyway. Use the pages as a fire starter or some other fun craft. Then just find an old drawer or even a crate to turn into a box and wah-bam - beautiful secret storage. Who said secrets are no fun?

Happy Wednesday!

My Monday #13 - Scrabble Name

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - ChelseaGirlDesigns

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Lacy Peach Stoneware Pie Plate Scalloped Edges 9"

I found a new favorite show. Flea Market Flip. I NEED to get on this show pronto. Are you telling me you will PAY me to go BUY stuff at a giant YARD sale to WIN money. Uh. Yes. Please. And they have helpers so you don't have to know how to work all that fancy equipment you just point and say work. I wished that worked in every aspect of my life. So when thinking about a tutorial for today I thought I would write about a great flea market find of mine. Scrabble Name Plate.

I found these old letters and name plate for under $10 total to originally display at my wedding. Proof.

Regardless of my original intention - I think they are so fun for any type of picture/decoration and they are SO cheap!

Multiple Options:

1. Use an Old board that you already own - FREE! (come on you know you don't play it)
2. Buy a used game at a thrift shop for $5 or less.
3. Flea Market Find - pay a little more but they may look more used. Don't pay over $10.

Happy Monday!

No Nap Natalie

I am exhausted and I need a nap. The ironic part was when I was a child I was nicknamed "No Nap Natalie." A mother's dream I know. It's also nearing that time of year where my body goes - uh Natalie are we gonna take a nap? And I say - no body we still have 1 month to go. Then we both cry in the bathroom together and eat a tub of ice cream. That's how we roll in this household. In light of my exhaustion I only had enough energy to post these. But they made me laugh so mission accomplished. Happy weekend. Take a nap.

I title this one...I was going to make some wreaths but then this happened.

Happy Friday!

Tutorial Thursday #26 - Owl Brooch

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Pixelthis

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Floral Berry Bowl - Berry Colander - Extra Large - Green

I love owls. Obviously right? I mean when I requested my banner for my shop I said put a hot glue gun in that owl's hand right away! Animals shouldn't have craft objects? Who cares! I don't know why they are so cute because I feel like in real life I would be petrified of them. So as long as they stay cartoonish and are out during the day I think we should all be alright.

Happy Thursday!

Why Didn't I think of that #20 - Old Shoe Organizer Turned Craft Storage

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Eclu

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Green and white pillow cases - Olive green damask print and stripe print pattern on each side - 12x18 pillow covers set of two (2)

I think I own 50 pencil containers. None of them actually contain pencils, more like pens and paint brushes and probably a toothbrush. And if they do actually contains pencils, I think I use them more for show instead of actually what they are intended for.  I like cute pencils. It's my achilles heel. When I forget which of the 50 containers I chose at the moment to hold that ONE pencil I desperately need to find I get so frustrated. I have the memory of a goldfish I'm pretty sure. So this little number is quite genius and it has multiple pockets. Satisfies the need for hoarding and crafting all at the same time. It's a new TLC show already.

My Monday #12 - Frame your thermostat

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - BrambleBunny

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Reversible half apron - vegetable garden navy

This idea I got from Pinterest. Found it at 2 a.m. (yep I'm a compulsive can't sleep so just troll through Pinterest kind of gal). My first thought was this is highly unnecessary. I mean a frame around your thermostat. Why? But it was also 2 a.m. and I was tired. But luckily I pinned it and looked at it again after a few cups of coffee and changed my mind. Coffee changes everything.

Now I was GOING to make a trip to IKEA but going to Old Navy happened instead. These yellow shoes were calling my name and no one says no to Old Navy. Or bad things happen I'm pretty sure. SO I decided to be thrifty and use an old frame I already owned. Pardon the shadows. My thermostat apparently likes to be dark and mysterious.

So overall thoughts on this easy craft.

Total Cost - Free if your have an old frame (hopefully cuter than mine) - up to $5 for an IKEA frame.

Level - can you hammer a nail in the wall = you'll feel like an expert with this craft.

Overall Effect - Turns something super boring into a great focal point. I Love it.

Happy Monday!

Flash Sale

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - FacingTheLens

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - vintage owl wall hangings

Have you ever gone streaking? I haven't. I can't even run around in my swimsuit from the hot tub to the pool without screaming like a 9 year old girl and acting like it's -20 outside. Embarrassing I know. How do the people in the movies do it? Flash around like they are the hit of the party. Oh wait. They are. But in light of the flashing I thought how fun to do a twist and make it more "appropriate." Hence my new business strategy. A 24 Hour FLASH SALE on a certain item. 50% off for only a limited time.

Flashing appropriately people.

Here is mine for LUCKY Friday the 13th. Click HERE to go check it out at my SHOP!

Oh and just for giggles. You're welcome. Cause we all don't have time for bronchitis.

Happy Weekend!

Tutorial Thursday #25

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Eggagogo

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Pink and Orange "You're the bomb, mom" Mother's Day Card

Have I mentioned I am eco-friendly? Well growing up in Austin, Texas it was not really a choice unless you wanted to be attacked by the wild hippies downtown. I like to have all my limbs so I yelled out "I'm Recycling" and they usually scatter after that. It has taught me some good habits so I can't hate too much. So I LOVE it when people find / make crafts that involved nothing but using what you already have to make something fun to decorate with. I give you Egg-Carton Roses.

You can Read / Have fun at the tutorial HERE. I may have to seriously go for this one.

Happy Thursday!

Why Didn't I think of that #19 - Cheese Earring Holder

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - DreamsFactory

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Linen hardcover Notebook / Book / small Journal

Grating cheese is annoying. Can I get an amen? I mean some machine has already pre-packaged it for me, all sliced in super ridiculous small pieces already so WHY would I almost injure myself and grate it? Is it more earth mother? I dunno. So in light of this I almost threw my cheese grater away in sheer protest (and by throw away I mean recycle ... don't come after me) but then I found this wonderful craft. So thankfully no violence or small animals were hurt in the process.

An Earring holder. Who knew? And I was going to recycle you. Silly, silly, me.

Happy Wednesday!
