Why Didn't I Think of that #37 - Sponge Ice Pack

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - mysweetiepiepie

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Sale - Vintage 1960s Skirt. Dark Green White. Embroidered. Ethnic. Folk. Boho. Summer. Fall. Back To School. Weddings. Size Medium

I currently do not have kids. I have made my case that 2 dogs and a husband are fairly equal to a 3 year old but people with children just laugh at me.
But I say, you don't know my dog.
So when I can find a handy dandy trick to keep things cool like dog food or even people food (notice the order) AND it stay mess free... Man. Did I win the lottery? Close. Very Close.

*Make your own lunchbox icepacks from dollar store sponges soaked in water and put in ziplock bag. When they thaw, the sponge absorbs the water.

Time for Crafting

I think one of the craziest parts of actually trying to have a hobby / maybe small business (not me but other people) is the time. I'm sure 90% of the people actually on Etsy have a "real" job that they go to every day.
Which is very inconvenient I might add.
I want to know how those people actually made it into a business and don't get burnt out.
I mean I love making stuff don't get me wrong but I really have to be in the mood for it or my wreaths look like they have been in the rain for a whole day.
Plus nothing is worse when Hey There Honey Boo Boo is on and you have to go hot glue something together. You better Redneckugnize.
So maybe it will just take me winning the lottery and buying a Michaels craft store and then I can dominate the glitter and craft world and have all the time in the world.
Million dollars here I come.

Happy Friday!

Tutorial Thursday #33 - Pencil Heart Bag

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - VintageShelfandWall

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - English Bulldog Statue in bright red

I love reusable grocery bags.
I have at least 50 of them and mind you none of them ever make it to the actual grocery store.
I think it's just the idea that I have them makes me feel more eco-friendly.
It's the thought that counts right?
Well here is another great gift idea / craft that involves only a pencil, reusable bag, and some paint.
Simple supplies, simple project, and you can even re-use the pencil. Sweet.

Happy Thursday!

Promises

Dear Blog,

I promise to pay better attention to you next week. I have been ignoring you and not making time. We almost broke up but I think we can work it out. Crafting brings everyone back together. Especially if there is glitter involved.

Why Didn't I Think of That #36 - Corner Rod

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - TwelveandCovet

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - custom couple caricature and initials tea cups - black and white hand drawn portraits pair - set of two (2)

Let me start this post off by saying I am no fashionista.
This no duh is simply because I lay my clothes all over the floor and bed thus proceeding in dog hair and who knows what all over my clothes.
I also have that one weird corner of my bedroom that is big enough to hold something but too small to do a whole lot.
So bam. A rod in the corner to hang my outfit ideas as I pretend to be a style blogger going to get coffee and sit on a porch.
Dang that real life.

Happy Wednesday!

Craft Tunnel Vision

So I've been busy.
When I first started my Etsy shop and blog I had no intention of it ever becoming some multi-million dollar business (although if it does I will surely let you know!).
In fact I wouldn't even consider it a business as I really just make wreaths to get away from the grind every once in awhile.
All it takes is a little glitter and yarn and I am back to normal.
So you can image my surprise when I was contacted by some big agency saying you are using greek letters to make super lots of money. Sorry lady but Uh do you know me?
I was bummed and really thought about closing down my shop as it was really not fun for me anymore. Then I got an order. A crazy order.
For 70 wreaths. Yep. 70. In case you were wondering what 70 looks like here it is.

It was so fun. Challenging and time consuming but fun. It was nice to get my mind away and just get craft tunnel vision for awhile. I even made 2 big wreaths today just for fun. I'm crazy I know. So I'm almost back to normal. Take that big agency.

Sick on Labor Day

How do you like to spend your vacations?
Oh apparently my body likes to spend them on the couch with 5 boxes of tissues and the inability to breath out both nostrils. Joy.
Yes thanks to my real job as a teacher I believe the children wanted to leave me with a parting welcome back gift. A virus.
Aren't they so sweet?
It did however give me LOTS of time to troll around Pinterest and I found this lovely little sickie person find.

*Rubber band and empty tissue box to a full one and use the empty one to hold the used tissues.*

Happy Monday!
