Grandma is Getting Fancy

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - LilyandVal

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - SAIL: decorative wall shelf geometric stripes key rack

I definitely found the link to this idea on Pinterest and then it was on a website written in a foreign language I do not understand. Sad. Good thing I can visually imagine steps and ideas sometimes without needing instructions. Instructions are for babies anyway. I'm pretty sure you just take an old doily or even an antique napkin and make yourself some super cute pockets on the grandma cardigan of yours. Grandma is getting fancy.

Why Didn't I Think of That #52 - Book Cover Chair Pocket

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - ChickadeeDigital

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Barn owl in flight necklace MADE TO ORDER

Remember book covers in school?
Oh man we had those awesome paper ones where you could doodle and decorate however you like. Then if you were really fancy your mom bought you the stretchy fabric ones.
Rich people.
So what do you do with all those book covers now? Hang them on a back of a chair and make it a chair pocket.
Look who is a rich kid now.

Hippie Creamer

2013. The year I decided to try and be more eco-friendly and cheap.
Normally not possible to do both but with the combo of coupons and Pinterest I have found some successes. One of those is making my own creamer.
Creamer is so expensive and I do feel bad throwing away a perfectly good container. You can only have so many containers for your craft supplies.
So my goal is to try making this sometime this week.
I'll let you know if it's any good. Or if I go back to the dark side of International Delight.

Find the instructions HERE.

Why Didn't I Think of That #51 - Milk Spout

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - KuriosaEurope

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - tiny bee necklace.

I cannot pour milk.
Especially when I first buy it. There is a 99.9% chance I will spill it.
Everywhere.
I'm like a giant 2 year old who needs a sippy cup.
So when they created this spout they may have said it's for kids, but I will choose to think they made it just for me.

Barbie Recycling

I love craft people. Some stuff is so out there that you think - HOW did you come up with that. It's fun to just walk around craft fairs and go - huh - never would have thought of doing that with that. Here is a great example for you to view over the weekend. I'm not gonna lie I would probably wear that necklace before I knew what it was (see if you can figure it out).

Tutorial Thursday #43 - Old Pack N Play

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - GalaBorn

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Blue and Brown Floral Embroidery Hoop Wall Decor

I have a board on Pinterest titled, if I had a baby but I don't. I figure someday I will need all these super cute amazing decoration ideas and I don't want to lose them into the abyss known as the internet. How sad if I could never find that one picture again. In my search for cute ideas that I have no reason to be searching for I came across a tutorial / idea that I know someone I know would use. Take your old pack n play and cut out the mesh and use as a reading tent. How cute and eco-friendly of you.

Why Didn't I Think of That #50 - Ikea Hacking

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - Giardino

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Smile (A3 Yellow)

I hear a lot about people who are Ikea hackers...whatever that means. I guess it means they are able to take super simple furniture and turn it into something amazing. Ok. I admit. That's pretty impressive considering IKEA tends to have a specific and set style. I like this idea though and I think you could even make the top into some kind of play table as well.

Crisco Emergency

#1 - SHOP of the DAY - VanVintageDesign

#2 - ITEM of the DAY - Vintage Wood Farm Dining Table - Mid Century, Modern, Rustic, Shabby Chic

I have started a survival kit much to the dismay of my husband. He thinks I am ridiculous. He won't be laughing when I leave him behind in the zombie apocalypse.
So in my frantic search for cheap survival (cause duh it has to be cheap) I am always looking on Pinterest to find the perfect combo where I can feel crafty and survive. I found it. An amazing 2-fer. So go buy a tub of crisco and get and old string and bam you have a never-ending lantern / candle that will burn for up to 45 days. Or you can just throw it. It looks pretty heavy.

Go 49ers

I am not a huge fan of pro football. My husband on the other hand is. He told me we are rooting for the 49ers. I immediately went onto Etsy to find something cute to match the shirt he bought me. Matching shirts and a cute headband. Isn't that what the Super Bowl is all about?
